Household 24th - 26th August 2012, Belfast

Two of my video works are being screened as part of:

HOUSEHOLD 24th - 26th August 2012 - Contemporary Art Festival - Belfast

to which you are warmly invited, should you be in the reach of Belfast this weekend.

From the website:
"Household is an event that encourages audiences to re-negotiate the way in which they view and interact with art in the city. It offers an opportunity to experience new work in unrestricted non-commercial and non-institutionalised contexts by inviting members of the public into selected artists’ homes.
There is a large concentration of creative professionals living in South Belfast who have agreed to open up their households to showcase a variety of work – from fine art, performance and installation to live music, talks and discussions.
Household provides a supportive framework in which these practitioners curate their own homes, while simultaneously encouraging visitors to explore intimate domestic spaces in an accessible and exciting way."

The screening of my works is in the Ava Avenue house
on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th, from 12 - 4pm.

Late at Tate: FIELDCLUB and Friends

Friday 25th November 2011
6pm to 9pm
FIELDCLUB event at
Late at Tate
Tate St. Ives
"FIELDCLUB and Friends"

Glimpse of the Matter (2010) 8'57" digital video
will be displayed in a show reel as an element of this event.

From the FIELDCLUB website:
"FIELDCLUB hosts collaborative/interdisciplinary art projects that investigate aspects of low-impact self sufficiency and post-human concepts of nature:

Our main project is to create and interrogate an exemplary 'Unit': a system of low-impact self-provision predicated on the hypothetical equal division of available UK land between the current UK population. The problematic complexities encountered during the physical application of this theory at FIELDCLUB has led to a growing body of projects, practical research, and the emergence of Neo-Agrosophy - a weird fusion of agriculture and contemporary philosophy.

The FIELDCLUB concept has been developed by artist Paul Chaney and researcher Kenna Hernly. Some projects are the result of collaboration with other parties, and a growing number of people have given free labour and other support."

Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust - Travel to Italy Award 2010

I am commencing a journey which will involve walking from Siena to Rome on the Via Francigena, before taking part in the vendemmia (wine harvest) and visiting its related festivities south of Rome. I will be passing through several locations of Tarkovsky's Nostalghia (1983), both gathering material and making work along way.

I'd like to thank the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust for selecting me and making this possible.
